Sneaker lovers came together to explore their creativity by customising their own kicks or by purchasing a new pair for customisation.
Levantè Urban hosted our “Colour My Kicks” event at Café Euphoria, Woodstock Exchange, on Saturday 26 November 2022, running from 11am to 2pm. The event was the second of its kind for the premium footwear and fashion retailer.
“On the day, they come, get a free drink, get a Converse shoe or bring their own shoe and plan their design. Our artist will help them to draw it on their shoe and they start painting. The artist will help guide them through the steps. But besides the painting, we create a space for people to have fun, meet new people and be creative. We will have a DJ there too,” Bain said.
“Our goal is basically to create a great vibe for sneaker lovers to be creative, have a unique sneaker customised by themselves and enjoy with friends.”
Two ticket options were available, both of which included all necessary art tools, supplies and an artist on hand to help guide anyone who did not know where to start or how to draw their desired design. No experience or special skills were required from guests, all that was needed were their ideas and creativity! Given the ticket purchased, guests could either bring their own kicks to customize for R100 or alternatively, purchase plain white Converse to paint from Levantè for R950.
Our Founder and Managing Director, Mamta Pema-Bain, decided to include a retail space featuring Happy Socks and various Vans and Converse sneakers for sale at reduced prices exclusive to the event.
Those who did not want to paint could still enjoy a fun afternoon with friends, filled with drinks and good food from Café Euphoria. The retail space at the event offered an amazing chance for guests to get an early start to their Christmas gift shopping.
